In a collaboration with Swarovski and Sister by Sibling, Crystals and the Postman are a Girl’s Best Friend by Ellen von Unwerth brings 1960′s glam to a whole new level. Forget diamonds, in this plotline, crystals take centre stage.
Donned in sparkling Swarovski that complement their domestic goddess couture, sister act Ruth and May Bell use their Marilyn-esque good looks to their advantage as they plan a dinner party that will the talk of the neighbourhood.
With pin-up worthy outfits set in the backdrop of the perfectly furnished 60′s home (complete with a candy inspired colour scheme), the sisters meticulously clean and prepare for the fabulous night ahead, decorating cupcakes and blowing balloons as quickly as their manicured nails will let them. Rouged lips and winged eyeliner frequent the screen, as do the ever-famous mini crochet dress and full bodied hair, whilst the record player pulls out the tunes in the background.
How devastating it is then, when the postman brings the bad news of a invitee cancelling their attendance! Oh dear! What are the sisters to do? Soon more cancellations follow from the cutesy candy-coloured phones, and Ruth and May show clear dismay at the turn of events.
Until of course, they’re light-bulb moment occurs and they decide to have a slightly naughty party of three with the postman. Before you get all hot under the collar, don’t fret, as everything remains PG. Just a lot of merry-making and cancan dancing, the sharing of cupcakes, cheeky kisses for the postman, robot moves, and the occasional slapping of the behind. Frivolous and lighthearted in a sea of puffy dresses and knits – just fabulous darling!
